Well, it’s time to back track. A little over a week ago, Todd and I were able to take a wonderful vacation for week. We went on an Alaskan Cruise. We lucked out at the last minute when prices went down, and secured a stateroom with a balcony for only an additional $30. Boy was that worth it’s weight in gold. We stayed in our room over 90% of the cruise. The inside passage was just incredible with it’s scenery from the ship. We opened up the door to the balcony and let the wind blow while we listened to the waves, watched the rain once or twice and snuggled in warm clothes or blankets. It was such a relaxing vacation. We would eat in the dining room at night, but the rest of the time it was grab a plate and head back to the room with the view mode. So different from a Caribbean Cruise where the excitement and highlight are all outside the room, on the pool deck and dance floors.
We flew into Seattle and drove through Canada where we caught the ship in Vancouver. That was a beautiful city. I loved the layout and cityscape of Vancouver. It was fun to see them getting ready for the winter Olympics.
Here are the photo highlights from day 1 and 2.
Day 1
Bon Voyage on Mother’s Day! We were in Heaven. Look at Todd below…feet up, sports on TV, crisp clean sheets, ocean in the background, 4 course meal. Can I count this for Father’s Day too?
This was leaving Vancouver. You should see the view these homes have. Look at the size of these homes…
Very beautiful over looking the bay as we leave the port.
Day 2
Stunningly Gorgeous Scenery. This is what we did ALL DAY. We put music on, and just hung out. It was so nice. The weather was awesome. We couldn’t have had a better view any where else on the ship. We went out to get food and brought it back to our room. We ate on the balcony. Dinner was nice in the dining room though. The best part of the morning on Monday was that we saw a pod of 6 or so whales. They were spouting and playing a little. This is the tale of one of them before it went under. They didn’t come out of the water very far. It was still cool.
