DIG IT!

Introducing REMUS our handsome ROMAN!  Tyson has never been one that wanted to try his hand in a drama type setting.  Let alone sing very loud or be enthused with any participation in a school program.  So  we were pretty surprised this fall when he came home and said he wanted to try out for a part in his 6th grade play.  Chandlie, maybe you had something to do with it!  We were excited to hear that he had been chosen for one of the excerpts that had a speaking part.  He was mostly excited that character got to fake die in the play.  He practiced that part quite a bit.  Smile

He did a great job and we were just tickled by the enthusiasm and life that he brought to his part and the singing and dancing with the others.  He was like a different kid.  He sang his little heart out like he was the only one in the room.  Really, that’s not like him.  Boy he thought he was the Bee’s Knees and well…By his performing and watching to see if Todd and I were looking at him, and also Grammy and Gramps earlier that day…he wanted us all to think the same thing!  Way to go Tys…you were great!  I will miss Elementary School with you in it next year.  I hope you don’t ever lose that beautiful bright spirit & zest that you showed us.  We were also tickled when we saw Tyson’s drawing of his sarcophagus.  He drew it all out with the face, arms and all.  No tracing.  We helped him color a little bit of it in, but we were all smiles with how he decorated it and what he put at the bottom.  “ I like to have fun”  and “I like colors”!  But let’s not forget Soccer and Football, of course!

12-3-12

We knew before we were born that we were coming to the earth for bodies and experience and that we would have joys and sorrows, ease and pain, comforts and hardships, health and sickness, successes and disappointments, and we knew also that after a period of life we would die. We accepted all these eventualities with a glad heart, eager to accept both the favorable and unfavorable. We eagerly accepted the chance to come earthward even though it might be for only a day or a year. Perhaps we were not so much concerned whether we should die of disease, of accident, or of senility. We were willing to take life as it came and as we might organize and control it, and this without murmur, complaint, or unreasonable demands

It’s been 6 years since Scott passed away.  Todd and I met Lesa, Kira, John & Anne for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory yesterday.  It was a tradition that started the first year after he died.  Each year at least part of us have gathered together to remember him and the light he gave to so many throughout his life.  We all still miss him…so much!

TESTIMONY

Tonight I received an email from my brother with a voice attachment to listen to.  It was given to him by my cousin, who found it in his Dad’s files somewhere and copied it digitally.  It is a 40 minute talk on Testimony given by my Great Grandfather, John Maiben Thomson, who was my Mother’s Mother’s Father.  What a priceless thing for us to have and share with his Great Great Grandchildren now.  To actually hear his voice and to have him not only speak about Testimony, but to bear witness of his own testimony of the restored Gospel and His Savior is truly wonderful.  I am so very thankful for my loved ones and sense of their dedication and sacrifice that comes with being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ in these later days.  There are many amazing examples of endurance and fortitude of saints who have pressed forward throughout hardships and trials in life and come out on the side of righteousness.  Easy has never been the road, But joy has always been an accompaniment along the path of those who have clung to the knowledge and faith that Christ lives.
