HERE WE GO

Here we go…and this is why…

Matthew 28:5-8

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you." And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.

JIMMER JAM

Tyson’s team finished their basketball season this month.  They did not win even one game.  Too much Jam, not enough Jimmer!

It was refreshing to see that the kids had a good time anyway.  They loved being on a team together as friends.  The coaches were so great to them.  These boys play football together and I think it was such a great thing for them to be a part of recognizing defeat vs. victory and the lessons that come with both.  (oh, I’m such a mom…always looking for the character lesson)  It’s rare to have the extremes of going undefeated in one sport to a zero record in another.  Reminds me that in most things in life, moderation sure has it’s place.

SUNSHINE

last week was the first day this year, we enjoyed music on our deck watching the sunset light up the cloudy sky.  It was warm.  It was nice.  Alyssa wanted to dance and sing for us, while Tyson pitched his bouncy ball against the surfaces.  These are the simple times.  The small and happy times that rejuvenate my soul.  The times between the bugging and picking and runnin’ a muck.

So When Alyssa grabbed her umbrella and started prancing, I grabbed my camera and captured her soul below.  I love these times!

PINCH ME!

We had some lucky kids at our house on St. Patty’s Day.  They came home to a fun treat left by a sneaky little Leprechaun.

Alyssa made a Prank-a-licious sandwich for them out of green pieces of gum and a peanut butter bar.

We had green crepes for dinner and called it a night!

14 YEARS

Todd and I celebrated our 14th Anniversary on Feb.  13th.  I put a lighted tree in our room and decorated it with beautiful small picture frames.  14 of them.  A photo of us for each of the years we’ve been married.  I’d like to add a photo for each of the 4 years we dated as well.  Next year I want to take the time to write a memory from each of those years on the back of the frames as well.

I am blessed to have you in my life, Todd.  You are nothing short of an amazing husband and incredible father.

I owe you my life. I love you.

Thanks for choosing to spend your life with me!

DOUBLE DIGITS

027-1

Our sweet baby bunting boy (who can definitely pose as a royal pill as well) is now officially 10 years old!  We love him to pieces and want nothing but all

that life has to offer.  The wishes of any parent, I guess.  I’m glad I have a

few more years before his teenage years hit.

Last month he also officially changed stages from asking his friends if they

could play…to seeing if they want to “hang out”.  That was my cue!  He’s on

his way.  He seems to be gaining a little more pop off & strut your stuff style

lately.  You know, that sense of “unrestrained confidence” that tends to accumulate largely in a boys life through out, um, well the rest of his

life! :0)  The confidence that is necessary- however ultimately needing

refinement along the way.

He’s surely growing up in more ways than one.  We were also pretty excited to

have the Dr. measure him at an additional 2 inches in height since last

October! THANK YOU THYROID MEDICINE!!!  What a blessing.

Tyson wanted to have a low key birthday in hopes for a fun summer party

when it’s warmer this year.  So that will be fun to look forward to.

So, Thanks to everyone who called with birthday wishes…you all made his day!

SEATBELTS

Still on her mission of teaching about importance, Alyssa says to me as we start down the street while I finish a phone call with Todd-

“Mom, put your seatbelt on.  MOM.  Put your seatbelt on.  MOM…you don’t have your seatbelt on.”

“Just a second Alyssa, I need to finish talking to Dad.” I say

After 3 or 4 blocks I finish my call.  Alyssa then proceeds…

“Mom.  What’s more important, Dying…or talking to your husband?”

Boy, how I wish in every situation in my life I was able to see what the MOST IMPORTANT decisions are.  Even the littlest of ones, or slight procrastination of right ones, can ultimately become LIFE CHANGING.

SHORT AND SWEET

Alyssa’s been hiding a secret.  And it was finally time to get rid of it!  About 2 months ago, she accidentally cut an entire side of her hair off up to her earlobe when trying to cut out a ponytail holder.  She sobbed and sobbed.  We’ve spent almost every day since, in either pigtails or one sided clips while trying to disguise the mishap.

She has not wanted to cut her hair.  But finally she was ready.  When it was done, she was so excited.  She loves it!  When we came home I noticed the light coming through my bedroom window was beautiful,  so I grabbed a dress for her and had some fun.  Now I’m the excited one because I have some new pics that I love.
