It was a long day. We had lots of fun. We enjoyed a picnic on the lawn in Mammoth and watched about 7-10 elk walking the grounds right next to us. It was the day of wildlife for sure. We drove through Bison in the meadow right next to the road. We also were lucky enough to see a BEAR! yep, a Grizzly! It wasn't too large , but fun to see up the mountain side apx. 50 yards. The drive home that night was just beautiful in the forest. The rays of sunlight up the streams, while the evergreens caught shadows. The air smelled lightly of pine –REFRESHING.
