Tyson’s Elementary has competed in a language competition at BYU for the past 4 years. The students usually volunteer to be a part of it. Tyson hasn’t had any desire to do it. This year his teachers and I, told him it would be a good challenge and opportunity for him to participate in. He took part in a section called impromptu conversations. He and a partner were given a topic to discuss at random, out of a list of around 20 they had practiced. Then they were to carry on a conversation in Spanish about the topic. They did a great job! They are awarded certificated and achievements individually on how they did, the school as a whole then places in the competition. They took 2nd place in their elementary division, out of 5 schools.
Grammy and Gramps came to support Tyson. It always means a lot!
