WINTER WONDERLAND!

We had only been home from Vegas a few days when Todd called from work saying he was invited to a conference in Deer Valley for 3 days and the kids and I could tag along.  Umm, SURE!  An opportunity to go snuggle up with the kids in a cozy room nestled high in snowy mountains?  Sounds like the HOLIDAYS to me!  We soon found were in for a bigger treat than we thought.

When we arrived, to all our surprise we were staying at the new and exclusive St. Regis Deer Crest Resort.  The resort was stunning to say the least.  The snowy majestic surroundings were magical to look at.  When we got to our room high in the air, the kids were in heaven.  The resort was sophisticatedly rustic.  Tyson walked around for a moment, then muttered…”Paradise”.  A few minutes later Alyssa looked at us while holding her arms out saying “It’s a miracle.”  The room was equipped with a top of the line kitchen,  two fire places,  two balconies, and 3 TV’s.   One of which lit up from the mirror in the master bathroom.  Tyson made the bathtub his bubbly perfect place to watch his favorite Patriots game one night.

Have I mentioned yet that the only way to get to the hotel was by way of the Funicular.  The what you say?  The Funicular.  A Swiss made tram-like car that elevated on a track vertically up the mountainside apx. the length of a football field.

While Todd was attending his conference sessions, the kids and I spent time huddled in the room enjoying the cozy atmosphere.  We decorated the room by making paper trees and adorning our yearly gingerbread house.  We also loved going out to the heated swimming pool and spent quite a few hours in there.

One afternoon Todd took Tyson down to the slopes for his first try at skiing.  Alyssa and I joined them a while later and she was able to get a quick feel in boots and skis as well.  The next day we went tubing at Gorgoza Park near Jeremy Ranch.  That was fun!
