I LOVE Christmas Eve. No matter the year or where abouts of our evening festivities, there is always an extra special spirit in the air that, to me, is hard to miss or ignore. It’s that inner warmth during those quiet in between moments, when the spirit testifies to me again that Christ is my Savior and King.
Our family spent this years Christmas Eve with Grampa and Grammy over at their home. Grammy has a tradition of cooking Prime Rib for the holiday. Todd LOVES Prime Rib. The kids both had extra servings of the yummy meat that was cooked to perfection. Twice baked potatoes, salad, orange rolls, and a creamy vegetable casserole were also on the menu. We also enjoyed the Grand America’s heavenly bread pudding recipe, drizzled with Creamy Caramel Rum Sauce. OH BOY! It was divine. Todd had suggested we make it. So glad he did.
We topped off the evening sitting near the Christmas tree exchanging a few presents. The kids faces were full of delight.
We made it home just in time for the kids to check Santa’s where abouts one last time on the trusty NORAD website. He was soaring in the air somewhere near New Jersey at that point. ;0). They happily jumped into their new pajama’s that our trusty family elf, Lance Dewberry Good, gives them each year on Christmas Eve. He even added soft slippers for them too. The kids nestled into bed as we said our prayers and good night.
ALL WAS WELL!
