ROCKY MTN RETREAT

Along with a fun group of gals, I headed to Deer Valley a few weeks ago for a

sweet weekend retreat.

We stayed in a beautiful condo surrounded by snowy pine filled hills.

Most of us stayed 2 nights and got little sleep between games, chit-chat and shopping.  Saturday we went out to a yummy brunch.  Pedicures were also in store!  It was definitely a guilty pleasure weekend.

Nurturing responsibilities at home should not overshadow the need for personal rejuvenation and development.  One cannot serve from an empty plate.  A mother who takes time for regular rejuvenation does not necessarily subtract from her ability to nurture.  Instead, she adds to her reservoir of energy to care for her children.  In addition, nurturing can be done without giving up individuality or righteous desires to bless the lives of others outside the family.  A mother is a person too, a beloved daughter of God with unique gifts and blessings to offer, both to her children and the world.  President Ezra Taft Benson counseled husbands to support their wives’ opportunities “to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially”.
