SO LET'S GET ON WITH IT...LIFE THAT IS!

A falling leaf is nothing more

than a summers wave good bye

We are settling nicely into a simplified Fall Schedule.  With the Autumn breeze blowing in from just around the corner, we can smell the sweet scent of warmth and coziness that comes with it.  You know, the days where simmering soup on the stove is a must.  Chili & Breadstix, or Chicken Dumpling...oh, or Minestrone.  Of course there's Apple Crisp with Cinnamon Streusel Topping, and all the yummy candles that make our homes smell good.  It's just that shrug my shoulders mmm feeling-- you know!

Tyson loves school so far this year.  He has finally caught the reading bug.  It's taken a while for that to happen, but now he can't wait to read at night.  How in the world to I keep that enthusiasm going?  Any ideas on good books are welcome.  We know about the general series books that all the kids love, but what about some great individual novels for kids?? Anyone??

Alyssa is not having any of the curling the hair business.  No cute matching outfits, or ribbons and bows for her hair...nope...she thinks FABULOUS is whatever is old, worn out and comfortable.  She wanted to wear a little hooded sweater from last year (still cute) but I had just bought her one of those cute & flounsy swing  jackets for the fall, so I was trying to get her to wear it.  I told her just to try it on and see, then she could wear her sweater.  Sure enough, she put the new jacket on took one look and said, "See mom, definitely NOT FABULOUS, and off it went onto the floor.

..........................................................

"Come little leaves," said the wind one day.
"Come over the meadow with me and play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold
For summer is gone and the nights grow cold."

Candy,
I can get Lizz to read about anything but Sean it has to be just the right book. Some of the ones he has enjoyed are Gary Paulsen books, like Hatchet, Dogsong, Brian's Return. We found most of these on book orders from school. Hope some of these suggestions help. Sean says Tyson would love Hatchet.
Love ya,
Sarah
