These yahoos are a bunch of great boys. I LOVE being a momma to Tyson at this age. I’m still allowed to hover in the wings and sometimes even invited to join a conversation or two. The boys are still young enough to allow their parents to be around most of the time and think we’re ‘sometimes’ still in the know… SO it's been a joy to be a team mom for this group for the past few years with Tyson’s football team. We are SUPER DUPER excited that we made it to the semi finals again for the 3rd year in a row. But THIS year…we did it…we made it to the coveted MINIBOWL. YEP! This is the SUPERBOWL of the little league. The boys have worked their hinnies off this season. Their team is undefeated and has only allowed 13 pts. to be scored against them total for the season. That’s a huge feat against 4 or 5 of the teams they played being ones who each averaged a throw down of 24-28 pts. a game. Our team shut out 4 of the top teams, along with kicking last years minibowl winners out of the playoffs this year all together. YES, I’m tooting these boys horn! Because it has taken ALL of them as a team, along with fantastic coaches to get them where they are right now. Tyson is privileged to be a part of it. They have all earned their cleats a spot on a university football field to play one exciting game!
All season they have worked hard AND played hard. Through it all…they have become family. They have become brothers. Now finally, this weekend it will all be left on the field. Blood sweat and tears. Hopefully more tears for the other team! However, just having this opportunity for them, is usually once in a lifetime. Win or loose.
