We are so Thankful for the past few months. There were 2 baptisms and 2 baby blessing in our extended family and we had the opportunity to attend 3 of out the 4. What wonderful events! This past weekend we traveled down to central and southern Utah again for Shawn & Angie's baby blessing for Sidney Lake. She's such a doll.
We left late after Trick or Treating, which turned out great. The kids had dumped their candy on the living room floor, and didn't even pick it up for the car, we left it behind...how nice! They slept the whole way. We enjoyed a quick weekend of travel. Sunday was an absolutely stunning drive with the weather. The clouds were dark and scattered. We could see the mist of the rain falling on the mountain ranges across Harmony and the Kolob Canyon area. On the way home, the rain fell even as the rays of sun shined through and created a beautiful Rainbow sprawling from one side of the valley across the road to other. It was as if we were driving straight through it. Awesome.
We only had a few hours with Shawn and Angie and their kids. It was neat to be seated in the chapel even for a short few minutes together. That's just it though. TOGETHER. They live in Arizona, so we don't get to see them as much as the rest. It was also great to watch over a 1/2 dozen men in that circle come together from both sides of little Sidney's heritage to participate in a blessing with collective priesthood power.
We have had many modern day miracles touch our lives in so many ways. I cannot discount the times when even just being TOGETHER as extended family allowing us to congregate for occasions such as this, as anything short of one of God's great miracles to bless us with his love and JOY. And all the while, we had SAFETY.
SAFETY in TRAVEL, SAFETY in FAMILY, SAFETY in LOVE.
