MOM, ARE YOU SELLING THIS?

I spent some time yesterday rounding up a few out of date toys the kids don't play with anymore. These were items that I am putting in my basement for a while.
As I glanced at the plush green pillow, my heart smiled and I put it on the top of the pile knowing it would be safe downstairs until Christmas season next year.
I carried the box down half of the stairs, but didn't get it to the basement before Tyson came home from school. With in the hour he saw the box...
"Mom? Mom, are you selling this?" With tender worry in his eyes.
"Oh, no sweetie. I am just keeping it safe downstairs til next year."
"Cause that's the pillow I bought you for Christmas, with my party pesos"
At Tyson's school, his grade gets to have a Fiesta Friday, on the last Friday of every month.
The kids get to earn party pesos through the month by having good behavior, homework etc.
He was so excited when he came home in Nov. He WOULD NOT let me look in his back pack that was stuffed to the brim. He asked where a good hiding place was.
"How was the fiesta?" I said
"Great. But, Mom I didn't really get anything for me."
"Why not?"
"Well, I just wasn't the first one in line, and when I got up to the trunk of prizes to buy,
there was lots of candy and some toys, but the football I wanted was already gone. Soo,
(shrugging his shoulders with a big grin) I decided to buy you and Alyssa Christmas presents.
And mom, they cost a lot of pesos. But I did get an eraser for me."
He had come home with this pillow for me that he thought I would love, and he knows how much his sister loves carebears, so he saw a bright green carebear that he bought her too.
I had him color special wrapping paper for our gifts and helped him wrap Alyssa's up tight, and Todd helped him wrap mine.
Needless to say, that sure kicked off the December Christmas spirit for me.

"No sweetheart, I am not selling the pillow...how could I? It's over-stuffed with love."
